Kripalu Yoga

Kripalu Yoga is also called the yoga of consciousness because it emphasizes the individual inner wisdom. This yoga style works with physical postures, breathing techniques and the respect of every student for his or her own individual limits also known as “honoring the wisdom of the body”. This yoga style works without pressure on the participants to achieve the poses right. It encourages them to get in contact with their inner self, feeling body, mind and emotions and to motivate themselves to improve their practice. Fully observing themselves and using the pranayama (breathing technique) during the poses, existent blockades like stress, pain or negative feelings can be dissolved and the yogis achieve a better emotional stability. Finally Kripalu Yoga will be like a meditation in motion and the changing from one asana to another will be unconsciously and spontaneously. Obviously this is hard to reach and it´s helpful to have a quiet, peaceful environment for this yoga style to get aware of yourself. On yoga retreats you are far away from daily life and can just calm down and make a journey to your inner core.
